Sprivald, Lubenao.

Spreevald, a vast forest in the middle of the tributaries of the Spree River. After going there, I first thought that I have moved to a village in Bangladesh. Tao is not in any village today, but in a childhood village, where there is no touch of mechanical sound. Around the mouth in the chirping of birds. Only by boat can one go from one neighborhood to another, from one village to another. What is beautiful, not to be expressed in words, can only be felt. It’s like a dream. I have never had such an experience before, after going a little deeper in the forest by boat, I felt as if I had moved to another world, as if I was in a trance. The only means of expressing that feeling is the German word “Waldeinsamkeit” which means the feeling of going into the forest alone and disappearing with nature. I went in the last week of October. With the onset of autumn there were very few people. As I said before, I like to enjoy the secluded nature, so autumn is the best time for those like me who like to enjoy the secluded nature.

Sprivald is called the green Venice, a unique natural region of the world. Village after village has built more than 200 winding small canals spread over 960 km. This ice age region is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site declared a protected biodiversity zone. Although there are entrances to the Sprivald from many cities around the German capital Berlin, I took the road to Lübbenau. The intercity train (RE) RE2 from Berlin is an hour’s drive to Lubenau, and Grosshafen, the entrance to Sprivald, is a 10-minute walk from the station. From there you can rent a kayak to get around Sprivald. Or one or two villages can be toured by the traditional boat of Sprivald. Boat rentals range from 12 to 20 euros depending on the company and the season. At the end of the one hour boat trip when we reached the shore it felt like we were back from dream to reality. But that love, that feeling fascinated me for a few more days.

Almost every home in Sprivald has a fishing box. They are dropped into the canal water with food in boxes. Different kinds of fish are caught in that trap. It has its own postal system and garbage collection system. The original inhabitants are not Germans, but Slavic tribes. Although many retired Germans are now coming here, they have to follow many rules and regulations, keeping in mind the original tradition. As a protected biodiversity zone, tourists are also given a huge list of rules and regulations and are closely monitored to see if they are complying with them.

Another reason Sprivald is famous is its organic crops, the most famous of which is the cucumber. What kind of cucumber is available here! Cucumbers are soaked in a mixture of vinegar, many kinds of herbs and spices. Cucumbers and other vegetables made in this way are very popular among the Germans. So if you want to come to Sprivald and eat something traditional, you can try cucumber here. I liked the best cucumber mixed with vinegar-pepper and vinegar-honey.

We represent the country at home and abroad, so wherever we go, at home or abroad, let’s put our unnecessary things in the right place.
