Travel to Agartala Tripura on a very low budget.
There was a time when I would go for a walk alone. From 2007-2015, I traveled alone to different states of India, Bhutan, Nepal, and different districts of my motherland. Then from 2016, the group started touring. After a long break, I went out alone again today. This time the destination was Agartala Tripura. The plan was already to come back on a very low budget.
So, according to the plan, I left home on August 16 and moved to Kamalapur. I missed the Parbat train for 2 minutes. 6:35 left the platform in front of my eyes.
What else to do, then I waited till 6:45 for the metropolitan twilight, I had breakfast in the middle of it. At 7:35 I got on the train without a seat, bought a train ticket. I sat till Bhairab. After that, there was no happiness. From Bhairab to Akhaura, the train was very crowded and it was very difficult to stand.
However, at 11 o’clock I got down from Akhaura and went straight to the border in a rickshaw. After paying the travel tax at the border, I went to Bangladesh Immigration and saw that it was a small old haunted house. A room of fairly medium size. Three decks, no ceiling fan, there were a few stand fans, AC comes but it doesn’t work. However, after 30 minutes of immigration, India Immigration is completely stunned! Ritimato a football field. A beautiful office neatly arranged with many places. Here it was done in 20 minutes.
Then I came here and exchange the Bengali TK 2500 and got 2000 rupees. Then I took a rickshaw to Kasharippatti with 40 rupees. As soon as I got off the rickshaw, I started looking for a hotel for food, which I don’t want to eat after seeing the surrounding environment. After asking a few people, I found a good food hotel. Fairly clean, if you just take curry in this hotel, rice and pulses are all free. I bought fish for 140 rupees. After the meal, I went to Kasharipatti again. There is a mosque there. After the two Rak’ at prayers of Johar, I went out with a 30-minute rest to see the city. In between, I did some shopping for 400 rupees.
In fact, the only thing worth visiting in the city of Agartala is the Ujjayanta Palace, apart from what is not worth mentioning.
1901 Missin Martin Burn Company of London built this impeccably beautiful palace on an area of 800 acres. You can get this palace by walking 8/10 minutes from Kasharipatti. Entrance fee to the palace is 20 rupees, 150 rupees for foreigners. I entered with 150 rupees. However, it took about a couple of hours to tour the whole palace. Inside the palace, there are many traditional collections of Seven Sisters and many rare collections of Bangladeshi sovereignty. I feel good.
After that, I went out for a walk and rented a car at Nagerjola bus stand for 10 rupees. From there I got on the Melaghar bus.
The rent was 35 rupees, I reached the fair in 1 hour and 45 minutes. It was evening when I came to the fair. The first thing I did was to find a hotel. Now I have no desire to go to Agartala again. The plan was to go to Agartala from Melaghar in the morning after seeing Nirmal. Since I have to return to the country the next day. Then I asked some shopkeepers if there is any other way to stay? They said no. Later, when I gave up hope, I remembered that the government bungalow is next to Nirmahal. I have to book in advance, otherwise, I can’t get a room.
I thought I would go to the forehead and see once.
But no rickshaw auto wants to go that night! The place will be very secluded and will be about 1.5 kg. Seeing no other way later
I started walking alone. The road was very quiet, I was a little scared and had to work.
Who knows what an unknown place is alone!
However, the tension was less because the Indian comes in the pocket only 1200 rupees. After 20 minutes of walking, I saw Nirmahal standing in the middle of a lake called Rudra Sagar in the light like a fairytale palace. The stars in the sky woke up today as if the whole environment looked strangely beautiful.
On one bank of the river in the middle of which Nirmahal is situated, there are two government buildings called Sagarmahal. I asked for one and asked for rent. 1200 I said my budget is less, whether it will be less than this. Later RK gave me a huge room on the ground floor of the building for 550 rupees. The room is quite large and can accommodate 3 people effortlessly. I got up in the room to take a bath and felt the fire burning in my stomach! I saw the hotel restaurant next door, the price of food is beyond my reach. Later I started walking again towards the fair and came to the market and saw that almost all the food hotels were closed. Some bakeries and sweet shops come open. I ate 5/6 items of sweets from the sweet shop and went to the hotel with a big loaf of bread and 2 dozen bananas. I came to the room and ate half a loaf of bread and 12 bananas and went to bed at 10:30, at 8 o’clock in the morning. I don’t remember how many years later I slept so long.
I got up in the morning on 18th August and went out to see Nirmahal with fresh breakfast. Tickets are normally 30 rupees for everyone but the condition is that if there are not 20 people, they will not leave the trawler, otherwise I have to take reserve. 260 rupees if I take it alone and 600 rupees.
Nirmahal is in the middle of the lake so I have to go by a trawler, after waiting for a while a group of 4 people actually left with 100 rupees per share. The entrance fee is 30 rupees to enter the palace. Another thing is that no tourist can stay here for more than 40 minutes, if you do, you have to pay 150 rupees as an hour. I got down from the trawler and entered with 30 rupees.
The palace is the largest in India and in eastern India
Only. There are only two water palaces in India. Another is the Jal Mahal in Rajasthan. The whole palace is
Seeing Ray, I got up and took pictures, and went out in time.
Then I brought my bag from the hotel and walked to Melaghar bus stand. From here I came to Agartala Nagerjola with 35 rupees.
I came to Agartala and saw it at 1:50. I thought of what to do after going to the country so long! I go in the afternoon and I haven’t seen a movie this time.
Usually, I watch a movie every time in India. Later I first went to the Big Bazaar and heard that the ticket price starts from 250! The movie will not be seen with the money that comes in the pocket. Later I went to Agartala city center and saw the movie Mission Mars for 150 rupees. It was good that the movie house was full. I went out to see the movie at 5:10.
Go out and take a rickshaw to the border with 50 rupees. It was 8:30 when I came to Bangladesh after immigration. I wanted to catch the twilight of the metropolis. He came to Akhaura station at 8 o’clock. But the train left a minute before entering the platform – I do not know why the forehead! That’s almost the case with me! You can see 30 seconds before the train leaves or one minute before the train leaves. And the day I come on time, the train does not leave.
After leaving the station, the last hope was to catch the Parbat train from Azampur station. One or two
Asking, I took the local CNG and left for Azampur station. Parabat was supposed to come here at 8 o’clock. The train was late at 9:15. Anyway, I bought a ticket for 175 rupees, but I didn’t get a seat, so I sat at the door and came to Dhaka. 12:50 Alhamdulillah I came home.
