The sound of the wind fluttering its wings in the windows of Siliguri Junction.
Today Akash is upset. The sound of wings fluttering in the window of room 104 of Swastik Regency at Siliguri Junction. In the unseasonable hailstorm, the winter is intense. I am a traveler, locked in a hotel. He doesn’t even want to watch television. Imran-Modi’s war game as soon as the box is opened. With the exception of an hour, the rain subsided a little and the sun smiled in the sky. I got out of the hotel on all fours. But the destination is unknown.
Standing on the Mahananda Bridge, looking right / left. The left side is like a slum. The unbearable smell of cow urine from the buffalo farm. The corpse burning point on the right. As soon as I put my eyes under the bridge, my body became confused. Aye pancha / dirty water mahananda. Some people are doing daily work including bathing in dirty / dirty water. My favorite Dhaka has some strange similarities with the city of Siliguri. There are no manhole covers, dirty water overflowing drains, heavy traffic, and car horns. Siliguri, you are Dhaka’s cousin …. Jeeps from Sikkim and Darjeeling are passing in front of me. Although this time the current craze was to go to Sikkim. But going to Sikkim is no longer a blue-passport fence.
This servant … servant turn ….. the word came to my ears.
The Toto driver is picking up passengers. I heard about the servant in the mouth of a sister. The place is very beautiful. I got up in Toto without thinking. PC Mittal rented a water tank for Rs. From here I boarded the Kalimpangami local bus. My destination is Servant Bridge. Which is 22 km away from Siliguri.
The bus left in five minutes. In the several seats in front, the sisters seemed to be the teachers of a school / college in the subject of loud talking. The incident of 300 militants being killed in Pakistan, starting with the fish soup, was not left out in the conversation of the sisters. I am an ignorant person, for 25 TK rent, I reached Kalimandir in 40/45 minutes to see the beauty of the hills and the winding path.
As soon as I got off the bus, a gust of cold air caught my eye. I didn’t want to go to Kalimandir on the hill. I had to cross a bend in the hill road and walk for two minutes to find a beautiful bridge. Built on the hilly river Teesta, this bridge is widely known as Sebak Bridge. The straight road here leads to Gangtok. In the direction, I saw Gangtok 92 km away from here. After crossing the bridge, the road on the right went towards Kalimpong. The distance from here to Kalimpong is 45 kilometers.
Seeing the bridge and the road made me feel familiar. At the end of December 2016, I went to Kalimpong for paragliding and rafting along this route.
Standing on the bridge, I was overwhelmed by the view to the right and left. If the creator does not create with his own hands, his beauty will not be understood !!! Awesome …. indescribable feeling. Below are the lush green waters of the Teesta and the lurking of clouds across the hills. Aha! ……..
This time I got on the local bus from Gangtok at the junction for 30 rupees with the desire to come this way again in the deepest corner of my mind soaked in the beauty of the mountains.
B.D. Wherever I go, I keep the environment beautiful. Today, Akash is upset. The sound of wings fluttering in the window of room 104 of Swastik Regency at Siliguri Junction.
