Birishiri is a traditional place in Netrokona district of Bangladesh. The main attraction of Birishiri is the Vijaypur porcelain mine. Also worth visiting are Ranikhong Church, Garo Hills, and Someshwari River. The clear waters of Jaflong or the deep blue waters of St. Martins are known to many.

Garo hills
The Garo Hills are a part of the Garo-Khasia Mountains in the Indian state of Meghalaya. Parts of it are located in the Indian state of Assam and in the Netrokona and Mymensingh districts of Bangladesh. The Garo Hills cover an area of ​​about 6,000 square kilometers. If you want to go to Garo hill, you have to go to Gopalpur. Will take 10 rupees in auto from Durgapur College.

Someshwari river
Someshwari river is famous for its clear water and Dhudhu shelf. Someshwari River is a river in Netrokona district in Bangladesh. The Someshwari River is formed by the confluence of the Binchurichhara, Bangachhara and other streams in the Garo Hills of the Indian state of Meghalaya and the Rampha River from the west. . If you want to walk or bathe in the river, it would be better to do it near Vijaypur BGB camp. There is more water here and the surroundings are very beautiful. If you take a bath here, you will feel that you are taking a bath at Bichanakandi or Jaflong.

Hajong Mata Rashimani Memorial
On the way from Durgapur Bazar to Vijaypur Hills, this monument is located at Baheratali next to Kamarkhali Bazar.
The village of Bagajhara, situated at the foot of the Garo Hills on the border, was one of the anti-British villages. Rashimani was one of the protesting people of that village.
Saint Joseph’s Dharmapalli:
From Susang Durgapur, one has to cross the Someshwari river and take a rickshaw to Ranikhong village. Here is Saint Joseph’s Dharmapalli. This Catholic church in Ranikhong village was established in 1912. It is currently closed due to the fair. If you want to see it, you have to cross the Someshwari river and go by auto. You will reach Rashimoni Memorial in five minutes by that road.

White clay hills
8 km north-west of Durgapur Upazila Parishad is located in Arapara and Maijpara mouzas of Kullagarh union in Shasar Par of Vijaypur and white soil in Baheratli village. The collection of Chinese soil from here has created deep reservoirs like small ponds on the hills. It is very nice to see the clear blue reservoirs on the hill.

Way to go to Birishiri

Birishiri can be reached directly by bus, train or via Mymensingh.
1. Buses leave directly from Mohakhali bus terminal in Dhaka for Durgapur. This bus will pick you up in front of Talukdar Plaza, the heart of Susang Durgapur. The night coach left Mohakhali terminal at 12 o’clock at night. The bus fare to Durgapur will be 250 to 350 TK.
To return to Dhaka, two night coaches left for Dhaka at 11:30 pm and 11:30 pm from in front of Talukdar Plaza, the heart of Durgapur.
2. From Dhaka at 11:50 pm you can take a train called Haor Express to Shyamganj train station and from there you can go to Birishiri Bazar by bus or CNG fare. Or if you want to go a little easier, you can come to Netrokona by Haor Express train and return from Challisa Bazar on a motorbike for 300 TK per person to see all the spots. Apart from this, one can travel to Durgapur by train from Airport Railway Station at 4.00 / 4.30 in the morning on a train to Jaria station for 80 to 100 TK and by trawler, auto, CNG or motorbike.
3. By bus or train via Mymensingh
Local trains run 4 times a day from Mymensingh to Zaria.
8am, 11am, 4pm, 8pm. Train fare from Mymensingh to Zaria is 20 TK. The fare from Jaria to Durgapur is TK 25 on Tomtom, TK 40 on CNG and TK 150 on a motorcycle.
