Residents of Dhaka have to take a bus to get from one place to another in Dhaka for work or livelihood. The bus services operating in Dhaka are known as city buses. Numerous city buses ply on multiple routes in Dhaka. There are three types of bus services in Dhaka according to the quality of passenger service. These are seating service, counter service and local bus service.

Seating arrangement:
City services operating in Dhaka have a minimum of 35 and a maximum of 60 seats.
Although seating services transport passengers by seat, counter service vehicles transport passengers by standing outside the designated seats.
Ticket Collection / Fare:
You have to come to the counter and collect the ticket for the journey in the counter service car. You have to stand in line to get on the bus.
Rent has to be paid inside the seating service. You also have to stand in line to get in the seating service car. Passengers are picked up in the seating service vehicle subject to vacancies.
Passengers get on and off
In the counter service vehicles, passengers are picked up and dropped off from the counter. However, if the car stops at the signal, the passengers can get off but cannot get up.
After picking up the passengers according to the seats from the place left in the seating service vehicles, the passengers are picked up from the next stop subject to the seats being vacant. Passengers of this service can land anywhere.
Driving schedule:
City service vehicles run non-stop from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. However, the counter service vehicles run from 8 am to 9 pm.
** From 8 am to 10 am and from 5 pm to 8 pm, the pressure of office going passengers is high.
Freight transport:
There is no system of transporting goods on the roof of City Service vehicles.
However, in the case of city service vehicles, if there is large luggage or luggage weighing 20 kg, the passenger has to leave the luggage in the seat and pay the seat rent.
In order to carry goods in the counter service vehicle, it is necessary to ensure the place or seat to keep the goods with the help of helper by renting the goods at the counter.
In case of transportation of goods in seating service vehicle, the fare of the goods has to be paid inside the bus.
The vehicle helper assists in loading and unloading the goods.

There is no way to travel without a ticket / fare.
There is a penalty for traveling in excess of the prescribed fare.
Tickets can be checked at any time during the journey so tickets have to be saved till the destination.
Half tickets are available for students. For this you have to show the ID card.
All children above 12 years of age have to pay rent.
Men are not allowed to sit in the 9 seats reserved for women and the disabled. Women and disabled passengers have to leave their seats when they get on the bus.
