It is the name of a beautiful sandy beach across the Bay of Bengal in Satkhira district. There is a beach called Mandarbaria in Bangladesh which is unknown to most people. The forest at Mandarbaria on the banks of the river Hariyabhanga in Satkhira district and the picturesque sandy beach across the Bay of Bengal in front of it is like a boundless creation of nature. The distance of Mandarbaria beach from Nildumur wharf of Burigoalini in Satkhira is approximately 65 km. Nildumur can be reached by car, the next route is by engine driven boat or speed boat. The whole of this 75/80 km route is covered by various rivers flowing through the Sundarbans. Understandably, Mandarbaria is only for hardcore housewives. The Sundarbans on one side of Mandarbaria and the incessant roar of the magical waters of the Bay of Bengal on the other will intoxicate any human being.

The journey starts from Nildumur Ghat, crosses the confluence of Kholpetua-Kopotaksh river and reaches Mandarbaria through Kalagachhia, Arpangasia and Malch rivers. How to get there:
From Shyamoli in Dhaka you have to take Satkhira bus to Satkhira / Shyamnagar. Rent AC 1300, non AC 550 rupees. The distance from Dhaka to Satkhira is 343 kilometers. Burigoalini is 60 km from Satkhira Sadar. Mandarbaria beach can be easily reached from the Nildumurastha wharf of Burigoalini. Engine-driven boats, steamer boats can be used to reach Mandarbaria beach during the winter season (October to February). It will take 6/7 hours to reach by steamer or engine driven boat. It will take two to two and a half hours to reach Mandarbaria from Burigoalini’s Nildumur by speed boat.
