You can go directly by bus from Dhaka, the fare is 550-650 TK for non AC bus.

If you go to the launch, get the launch from Dhaka to Barisal or Patuakhali and from there take the bus to Kuakata.

We went to Barisal by launch from Dhaka and then by bus to Kuakata. Deck rent at launch is 150-200 TK and single cabin rental is 900-1000 TK.

Buses leave from Barisal Rupatli, all buses want local fare 240 TK, we fixed it at 210 rupees by bargaining. It will take 4 hours to go. I was at Hotel Banani Palace in Kuakata, a double bed kept 1500 TK.

There are 16/17 spots in Kuakata that you have to bike around, you can see the sunrise in the morning. The rent will be 900-1000 TK but it will be 550-600 TK by bargaining, 2 people can get on one bike. When I arrived, I returned to Dhaka, in the same way.
