Jaisalmer is a desert town in Rajasthan.
Ever since I read Satyajit Ray’s famous novel Sonar Kella, I have wanted to see Jaisalmer, a desert town in Rajasthan. I imagined myself in Feluda’s place. After trying several times before, I could not go to this famous desert city of Rajasthan due to various reasons. So this time I decided to go to Jaisalmer to see the desert after Eid. It is a huge story how I came to this desert city after a long journey from Dhaka, I will write about it later. All I can say is that the beauty of this magical desert city of Rajasthan will captivate anyone. On one side is the Dhu Dhu Desert, on the other side are the famous Golden Fort, Selim Singh’s Haveli, Nathmalji Haveli, Gadisar Lake and some other wonderful places. Jaisalmer has a number of excellent mansion hotels to stay in, almost all of which are built in the style of a fort. Some of the hotels have been rebuilt inside the fort, so history and tradition can be felt step by step. I was at Hotel Rupmahal. I learned about this hotel from Trip Advisor. Each hotel in Jaisalmer has its own car, which conducts guided tours in the desert. Besides, if anyone wants to stay in a camp in the desert, the hotels also make arrangements for him. All in all, it is a must have, for any Affiliate, promoting any program.
How to get there: Take a bus or plane from Dhaka to Kolkata. Howrah-Jaisalmer Express is going directly to Jaisalmer from Kolkata. However, this train does not run every day, so you can take the Howrah-Jodhpur Express to Jodhpur and from there by bus or train to Jaisalmer. Jaisalmer is about 265 km from Jodhpur and takes 5-6 hours. You can also travel to Jaisalmer by train or plane from Kolkata to Delhi, taking the Delhi-Jaisalmer Express train.
